How to Make Apple Pie Scones Step by Step

Shape the Dough and Add the Apples

Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently press it into a rectangle about 1½ inches thick. Place the drained apple slices across the center.

Fold the dough around the apples and gently press everything together. Shape it into a round about 6 inches wide. Avoid squeezing the dough aggressively. Light handling preserves the butter pockets that eventually become those beautiful Buttery scones.

          Cut and Prepare the Scones

Use a sharp knife to cut the dough into four equal wedges. Place them on the prepared baking sheet with space between each piece. Brush the tops lightly with Heavy cream. Sprinkle Turbinado sugar over them for a crunchy finish.

Place the tray in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes if the dough feels soft. Chilling keeps the butter firm before baking. This small step can make a noticeable difference, especially when your kitchen feels warm.

                Bake Until Golden Brown

Bake the scones at 425°F for approximately 18–22 minutes. Keep an eye on them during the final few minutes because ovens vary. The tops should look deeply golden while the centers should feel set. Properly baked Golden brown scones should have crisp edges without a dry interior.

                    Prepare the Cinnamon Glaze

While the scones cool slightly, whisk Powdered sugar with ⅛ teaspoon Cinnamon and one tablespoon Heavy cream. Add another small splash if necessary. The glaze should slowly fall from a spoon. Drizzle it across the warm scones instead of completely covering their golden surface.
